New Caravan

I have just recently purchased a brand new caravan and having just done two trips away i now find that have black streaks running down the side outwalls of the van below the windows. Any ideas how can i get rid of this also can i use car polish on the van.

i use car shampoo then autoglym any bits that dont wash off come off with polish,keeps you busy and out of trouble

The streaks are caused by leaching out of the sealant used for windows and joints - it is a common thing on all non bonded vans and nothing to worry about. I have used Fenwicks caravan cleaner for years, nothing beats it; they also make a liquid polish but car wax shampoo is probably as good and cheaper. The car shampoo is no good for the black streaks though however hard you brush!

If you go to page 14 in this topic and click into M U C Caravan polish there is a thread about caravan cleaners and I have added my comments here too.

You can then make your mind up what you can try, there have been lots of questions on cleaners over the last few months.
