Lizzie, please tell Motty that Dacia were here long before 2013! I had a 1987 pick-up, and followed that with a 1989 one, and a friend had a 1986 Duster 4x4, all based on the then current Renault 12. Basic, but very useful trucks, even then.

Hi there. Agreed, but after the company was bought by Renault, they were officially re-introduced to the UK in 2013 – I think that's the point.

Also another point to pick, the tip shift on the EDC box is actually the correct way around for sequential shift boxes and isn't counter intuitive at all; when you accelerate you are pushed back in the seat so it is more natural to pull the lever back. When you brake you are pushed forward so it is more natural to push the lever forward. The way VAG cars are set is opposite to this and although VAG drivers may have spent more time getting used to it, it is in fact the wrong way around. BMW started to correct this from 2001 onwards in their cars and it is high time it was corrected in all cars that don't come with paddle shifters.

There's no right or wrong to the system - its just the way this manufacture choses to do it.
