The caravan has a sort of cloth lining that goes across the ceiling and down behind the cupboards and i think it is also on the walls. It's like the cloth on the old headlinings in old cars, and its acting the same way by coming away from the ceiling. Hope this helps. It s a german caravan called Freedom. I'm new to all of this as you can tell.

These are Polish caravans that have a cloth lining (I think the earliest ones used a `flock` type of covering).

To be honest I think the easiest thing to do would be to gently remove all the lot (cut around cupboards if you have to) and simply re-apply all the lot using a spray adhesive.

The vans have been imported under a number of names, but whether the spares back-up is good enough to supply a new insulating lining is something you would have to find out, but in view of the extremely low initial cost price of the van having a `professional` repair would probably be uneconomic.

Alternatively, if the loose patch is quite small I`d just inject some adhesive and stick it back on, just be careful what you use as you don`t want an adverse reaction to shell material(are they glass-fibre or an injection moulding?)and the beauty of a spray-type contact adhesive is that there aren`t liquids running about which may seep through the fabric and discolour.

Best of luck.

Thanks for your info.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. It is a type of flocking, and yes it is quite bad. I don't think you could stick it back up. Thats what i was planning to do - take it all off and replace. Didn't know the first place to look for something similar. Did think about car headlining?

Sorry new to caravaning so I have a lot to learn.
