I don't think a 7 year lease on a 2-3 year old car is a good idea.Jo-Anne Wyoming said:We had a 57 plate Santa fe on contract hire but the lease has finished now. We had the CDX 7 , auto, what a fantastic Towcar and it towed our twin axel Wyoming with no probs and the mptlm is 1678kg. I would have another at the drop of a hat. Why don't you look and see if you can get a good deal on a 09/59 plate just before the new ones came out that way the piggies in the bank won't worry as much lol. You get either a 5 or 7 year lease anyway go on treat yourself if you don't the government will eventually.

You do know you don't have to use the wipers on the auto setting, they do have a "off", "on" and "fast" as well as auto !!Shirker said:I bought one in March, 5 seat premium auto, and have been running a blog on it since, may give a bit more info: http://www.shirker.co.uk/hyundai_santa_fe/
The Santa Fe will be replaced for the 2013 model year, ie autumn 2012 and be called ix45 in Europe.forest gump said:the ix55 out soon so santafe will drop in price.
That's why the Hyundai Kia Group need a third brand - it's pointless having Kia competing with Hyundai but neither is good enough for premium.Michael E said:I do think that Hyundai and Kia shouldnt tinker with what they have and that is very good value for money cars.
If they start trying to compete with premuim brands and premium prices then they are not the great value they once were.
You only have to look at the New Kia Sorento too expensive and not as good as the old Sorento, hence why the Sante Fe is the value for money 4x4 now.
I think a lot of people bought the original Sorento just because it was a truck-based 4x4, very heavy, with low range, and cheap - many of those same people didn't like the new Sorento because it's a car-based 4wd, lighter, no low range and more expensive.steve w77 said:You only have to look at the New Kia Sorento too expensive and not as good as the old Sorento
That may be your opinion, but as someone who has owned all 3 models of the Sorento, I don't agree. The new model is a much better all round car, it's more comfortable, more fuel efficient and very nearly as good a tow car as the previous models. In the seven years that I have owned a Sorento, I only ever needed to use low range once and that was to pull a 7.5 Tonne truck out of a muddy field and for all the thanks I got for it, the next person who gets stuck can phone the AA.

Steve you may be correct i have only read the reviews from the motoring and caravanning magazines.
My point was the value for money aspect?
The original Kia Sorento is a fantastic tower as the the amount on the road towing proves this, a top spec car could be had for new for under 20k , the new one doesnt tow as well (reviews, and a guy who we rally with says the same) and is nearly 8k more expensive.
The Sante Fe is now much cheaper and better value for money.
As well as being £1,800 to £4,750 cheaper to buy, the Santa Fe has better residuals than the Sorento despite it's longer warranty (7 years compared to 5)Michael E said:My point was the value for money aspect?
