New locks for lockers..

Our caravan has a few locks on the outside lockers that are a bit dodgy, two of which dont work at all..(though thankfully they are on separate doors).
Im lead to believe that replacements can be purchased but that the chances of getting say..six locks that will open with the same key is next to impossible. Surely there must be somewhere that can supply half a dozen lock barrels that will open with one key?

They look like a pretty basic cylinder lock. Perhaps a Thule 'keyed alike' set would work, change all the locks to one key.

Ebay item number 112321437075 is for a pair of locker keys and locks where both keys are the same. Two for around £12. P&P free.

Hi Kerbdog. Not sure what your problem might be with your locks but I had problems with mine and that was pressing the button and lockers wouldnt open. Solution was, took them apart and reassembled them with some nice thin grease. They look a bit complicated when you take the back cover off but they are simple to do . If your problem is similar then post again and I will try and help another way .
Sir Roger .

Thank you for the replies, the problem is with the one of the rear outside lockers, they have a keyhole which is in the center of a push button. in one of the locks the key wont turn at all, fortunately its been left in the unlocked state.
I may have a go at taking it apart to see if i can clean it out or at least get a part number.
i was told that the local caravan shop could order the barrels for the locks in but then you run into the problem of having one key that does one lock, one key does the other, and then a different set again for the other lockers.

There will probably be a key number on the barrel. Ask the supplier to match up the lock number, it's probably on the outside of the box. I know that is expecting customer service, which is a rare thing in the caravan industry, but ask :p

All of my Thule kit ,from since the late 1970's,with the same type of locks have been supplied on request with the matching lock number. Means I only have 1 key required, although I do have a spare in the car in case the main one gets 'tidied' up when I put it in the drawer. I also have the tool to change locks when I've sold Thule gear when no longer required, the new owners get matched locks as when I recently sold a roof bar set, and a back up box and easy base, but not the same number as I retain. :p

Hi Again Kerbdog. I maybe clutching at straws here unless a good dose of lubricant can free the barrel off it maybe a case of somebody in the past has changed a barrel giving you this problem that you now dont have the right key for it .

Hi Kerbdog - not sure how old your van is, but its possible that either the key or barrel of the lock (or both) is worn. When the key is inserted it passes through 4 or 6 spring loaded brass plates, such that once the key is fully in, the ends of the plates are flush with the outside of the barrel, allowing it to rotate.
Now the first plate has to accept the whole key going through it every time, going up and down to follow the keys contours, whereas the last one is only moved once, so the first one(s) will wear faster. When this happens, the brass plate is left sticking out a little on one side, so that it remains engaged in a groove in the part that the barrel rotates in (as in when it is locked). Therefore at first it might catch a little as it is unlocked, but eventually won't unlock at all.
It might be worth removing the barrel completely and flushing it through with white spirit. paraffin, petrol etc to clear out any accumulated crud - you might be surprised at how much better the lock then 'feels'
