Hi all,

Well I'm Andy and my good lady wife has ingratiated me in the ways of carvaning! We have an elderly but solid Bailey Scorpio (Avallon no less...) 4-berth that we've spent the weekend sorting out the de laminating floor patches and cutting out the nasty old brown-carpet to lay laminate effect vinyl!

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and say hi! I'll get some pictures up in a bit!

Cheers,
Andy

hi Andy, welcome to the forum, there is nothing more satifying that doing up an old van, and restoring it to former glory and even improving it, we await the pics,

Many thanks for the welcome!

No true 'before' pictures, but the carpet was 'alive', we purchased the caravan from the good ladies parents who'd owned it for many, many years so we were aware of it's history, my wife had many of her childhood holidays in the van and when it was going to be traded in for a pittance we stepped in and offered the trade-in value to purchase the van rather than see it flogged on eBay for a few hundred quid profit for the dealer.

Removing the old carpet and the underlay!

Repaired the two squidgy bits by the door and near the sink, otherwise the floor is completely rock-hard.

Started laying the vinyl 'planks'

A long days work, but this is how we left it this evening;

We're trying to 'de-pink' and 'de-velour' the interior to make it more modern, watch this space!

Cheers,
Andy

hello again Andy,
it's good to know the vans history, and previous owners who have no axe to grind, looks like a nice van at a bargain price, it cannot be that old though as the cupboard fronts and windows are the same as in my 2005 model ranger.
