Hello All,

I am a recently retired owner of a Lunar Freelander 5 berth and a Rover75 diesel tourer towcar, which I haven't used yet (the car not the caravan). We are currently planning a tour of the Scottish Highlands, clockwise round the coast starting at Fort William and then to Skye, then Gairloch etc. I wondered if any members have attempted this trip and have any advice to offer.
Kev.

Hi. Welcome to the forum and a happy new year to you. Not done the grand tour of Scotland, but have towed from the east midlands up to the whisky trail near Elgin, which is a fair step. The much maligned A9 was good on the days we did it, and the midges were few, (but we were on the eastern side of Scotland). Others have done the grand tour, and may be able to help more. Have a good time.

Hi Kev, Welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
Apologies for my late welcome, I seem to have missed your post until now. There has recently been a forum discussion extolling the virtues of the Rover 75 as a tow vehicle which was also reviewed in the Practical Caravan magazine recently

Several of our members tour Scotland, in fact some of them live in the areas that might be of interest to you and a post in the UK Parks & Touring section of this forum will probably have replies offering tips and advice.
Happy Caravanning
