Hi

Myself (careworker learning disablitiy) and my hubby Paul (welder)have been caravaning for the last three years started with a two birth elddis huracane 1990 model.

Loved it but it was a little small when all family turned up wanting to stay, we live in the Rhondda s wales.

spend most of our holiday time including weekends in pembrokshire, touring the first year before finding a permenent site in wisemans bridge, hence we got a bigger van a swift conquor 640L last year, have had a good time in this van it has lots of room but it has been well used by the previos owners lots of little things needing repair.

we decided to go for a brand new van for this season a sterling eccles amethyst due to came of production on the 20th this month hopeing to have this one for a few years

Welcome to the forum Diana, you will be pleased to know there are a few Taffs on here :O) Colin will be pleased. I am the guardian of the dike, making sure that trouble makers like him dont come back and sack Hereford cathedral again. At his age he should have finished with the rape and pillage lark :O(

Hi Diana - welcome to the forum from a fellow Welshman. We are now on the way to become a fighting force to stand up for our rights against the easterners across Offa's Dike. Do not be taken in by the charms of Lord B. he is a womaniser and as soon as he has you in his clutches look out. You will end up as either a milk maid, servant to his bed chamber or a kitchen hand serving him Viagra and Horlicks, what for goodness only knows. I think it is wishfull thinking.

On a serious note Wiseman's Bridge is a very beautiful area of south Pembroke, a friend has a van sited there - a chap by the name of Hugh Kinsey from Porthcawl. We have a camper van and often visit Saundersfoot on a day out and walk around to Wiseman's Bridge.

yes the meals are good ,sat and sunday can be a long wait for food in the main season, we use the new inn in amroth on the busy days nice food there also and plenty of room to sit outside.

by the way we notice that most people park over night in wisemans with camper vans on the sea front no one seems to bother them

There are also a few nice sites up in Pleasant Valley and I have heard that the pub up there on the right also serves good food, haven't tried it though. The only drawback with this area is that it has not got the sea views that you have at Wiseman's Bridge

hi colin

The pub you are refuring to has closed down, they sold off all the ground to build houses on,we did eat there on one occasion food was ok, but it did look a little run down.

we are up on the top of the hill over looking pleasant vally near a place called sardis, lovely sea views from one end of the site, you can see the gower on a clear day.

Diane, I am considering going to a C&CC rally at Bank Farm holiday park, Horton, Gower for spring BH. I don't know if that is near your neck of the woods {sorry my Welsh geography is not the best}, just wondered if you know anything about it? Ray

The CC site at Pembrey is just a little further west than the Gower but is fantastic. It is at an unspoilt country park which, if the weather is good, cannot be faulted. It is very close to the area as mentioned by Diana and also within easy distance of Tenby and Saundersfoot west and Swansea, Porthcawl and Cardiff east. Before committing yourself have a look at the Pembrey site - you will be very pleasantly surprised as to what is on offer on the country park and surrounding district. Good luck and enjoy your holiday in south Wales.

Diane & Colin, Thanks very much for the information. I want to go to Bank farm as it is a C&CC Temporary Holiday Site being run by the West wales District Association.

Let's just hope the weather is good because that can make all the difference to the enjoyment factor.

It seems that the winter has dragged on this year, possibly me just getting older, so looking forward to some warm evenings with the barbie and glass of wine or two. Ray
