New to Caravanning

Hi. Just put a deposit on a 2004 Coachman Amara. Picking it up next Thursday. Very exciting. We have never towed anything other than a small trailer before. Our tow vehicle is a VW Caravelle so hope we will be OK. It's great to have this site to refer to in the future and I'm sure we'll have many questions.

Hi Jooj, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum and website and congratulations on the purchase of your Coachman.
I'm sure that your dealer will have advised you on the suitability of the towcar and caravan match and if you have any questions your friendly and knowledgeable fellow forum members will be happy to help.
We hope that you will enjoy using this forum to tell us about your adventures in the caravan, any mistakes that you make or things that you like best about caravanning

Good luck with the handover and let us know when the first trip is happening.

Hi Jooj, welcome to the forum, hope you have many happy holidays in your new van. If you are unsure or a bit nervous about towing a van behind you find an empty carpark or something similar and practice turning and especially reversing with it, good luck.

Hoping to do our first trip latter half of November - if it doen't snow ! Going to Suffolk near our daughter's so we can see them without throwing a grandson out of his room!!
