New TV set up

I have just replaced my elderly dual voltage 10" tv with a cheap Tesco Technika 19" digital ready mains only model. It works fine in the house but when I connect up in the caravan with the Status 530 aeriel I cannot get as good a picture as with my old set. I am inclined to send it back but just wanted to check first if anyone else has experienced similar problems and found a solution?

Mick, I have the same set, same ariel no problems. Run it off a 150 watt inverter when there is no mains J.Lo

Mick , Dont do anything silly with your Techinika as we run two at home and again no problems.

What you must remember is for a Status Aerial to be any good you need to be in a good reception area also a smaller screen will be slightly better picture as well

I hope this helps

Hi Mick

I assume the booster switches are correctly set and working?

Check the aerial lead connector from caravan to tv. Constantly pulling in and out can disturb the connection.

Cheers

Some tv's have better tuners than others, i would try running the signal though a Humax, i use a cheap LCD this way.

Even so i found the status quite poor, so i now use high gain wide band ariel on a pole about 3' higher than the van.

If possible take both TV's and check side by side.

You have retuned at you new location?
