New tyres needed

I have been told that all the tyres on 1992 Swift Charisma ( 2 berth ) need replacing as they are all over 5 years old and showing obvious signs of wear i.e. cracking side walls etc. however , the tyre on one side is a different size to the tyre on the other size. I do not have an owners manual for the van so do I just ring Swift and ask for their help or is there anybody out there who knows what the correct size should be?

Two sizes on at the moment are 165/13 & 175/13 - which ,if any , are correct?

With technical qestions such as yours, it is always best to go straight to the horses mouth, and do not rely on advice from forums about tyre size, which may be incorrect.

Don't be guided by only the tyre size 165x13 or 175x13...Be sure to fit the correct load rating tyre.
I have raised this concern with a major supplier of caravan accessories who sell caravan tyres rated 82T. While these are ok for a 4 wheeled car, they are not for a 2 wheeled caravan.
The caravan accessory dealer continues to supply 82T tyres.

If the tyre load rating is 82T, the according to
http://www.blackcircles.com/general/load-rating

That give a maximum load of 475Kg with a maximum speed of 118MPH

Well the speed is fine but two tyres their maximum load would be 950Kg - exactly the MTPLM of your caravan.

That is a little too close for comfort.

But the supplier who I have in mind do not specify what weight of caravan they are suitable for, they are just sold as 'caravan tyres'

I am eating my words...I have looked at their website and they now publish a max weight...Glad I didn't name them
