Hi guys

Came across this forum after seeing a link on Facebook, and thought i'd check it out.

I'm Donald and although have been out in caravans most of my life, I've only just started towing since end of November 2012. Had our 2007 Bailey Senator S5 since june last year but have just traded it in for a brand new 2014 Elddis Avante 540.

Pulling the caravan is my 2009 Subaru Forester diesel which has been a decent tug.

It's great to see more forumites from north of the border, we hope that you will share some of the fantastic places for caravanners in Scotland with us.
That's a great picture of your car and caravan, we hope that you will post more pictures and enjoy using this website.

Cheers for the welcomes

I had just pulled up to my mum's house and took a quick pic. I was on my way home from picking it up from our storage plot... on Hogmanay

...........then we might be able to help you straight away :)

This is a suggestion .....and please do not shoot the messenger!!!!!
If you have not already got some towing mirrors then perhaps you should think about buying some as your outfit is almost certainly illegal to drive on the public highway without them.

My motive is safety here and nothing else :)

Hello Donald, a nice Scottish name there, but like many other forumites, I like your username, too!

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy joining in all the topics that bless these pages. As for your new 'van, I'm really, really jealous! Although I love my little Gobur, my previous caravan was an Elddis Avante. Lovely vans. I'm sure you'll have some brilliant, trouble-free holidays in it, you lucky thing!

A lot of folk liking the username but it came about a few years ago after I couldn't get any sort of names on the xbox. Went into the random name generator thing on it and out popped SquigglyCrayon, so i've used it for everything ever since

Hi Donald. Welcome to the forum. Impressed by the user name but even more impressed by the fact that you have posted a pic with your first post. This has eluded some regular forum users since the forum upgrade. It hasn't eluded me cos I couldn't do it in the first place
I also have an Elddis Avante but not the same model or quite as new.
