Newbie Help - Whale Mixer tap leak!

Hi,

But we can not have any water connected due to-

When I connected the water all is fine...

Until I turn the kitchen tap on and can hear water in the bathroom --- water coming out of the tap - tried to turn it off and it was - but water coming out of the mixer part??

Do I need a new tap or can it be fixed??

Can I make a temp fix until i get home ie - get a pipe isolating valve ??

The problem that I just had was, that due to cold weather ( caravans are not supposed to be exposed to the cold) the water in the tap expands when it turns to ice, dispite having drained it.

The result is a hairline crack in the cream coloured inner housing. This two Pound in cost item cannot be bought dispite hundreds of vans with the same problem after a harder than usual winter. The soloution is a

This sounds like frost damage - quite common if the water system isn't drained down properly for winter.

To drain down - turn off pump & water heater, open hot taps and drain valve - when water flow ceases open cold taps - when water flow ceases a second time remove filter - leave all taps open with mixers in their mid position.

In spring - close drain valve, purge system with Puriclean or equivalent, fit new filter, turn taps off.
