Hi Everyone
I live in Hampshire, UK and currently tow a Bailey Series 6 Burgundy with a '55' Kia Sorento 2.5 CRDi XS. we've Had a van since 2000 since an under canvas 3 week trip to the Pyrennees with our Daughter and 2 x teenagers.
I have joined this site because I think the Sorento is a great Tow Car albeit it has the odd Achilles' heel. Having said that I would never 'dis' the Sorento because treated right it should last for ages and so far has proved very reliable.
I would like to share with members on this site some tips concerning for example the so called 'Rear Axle Corrosion Recall' and the like so that we can all keep the value in our cars and on the road for as long as possible.
A couple of other sites have objected to links being posted to other sites where information has been posted. So I wanted to ask if this site would be happy for me to provide some more information please?
Thank you

Welcome to the forum bogwort. Parksy or Damian, our esteemed moderators, will be able to tell you the rules about the link you want to post, one of them will be along soon, I sure. In the meantime do join in with other posts and discussions.

Hi Bogwort, welcome to the forum
smiley-laughing.gif

There are a few Sorrento owners who are forum members and by and large most are very happy with their choice of towcar and any tips or information that will help the Sorrento owners to keep their vehicles in tip top condition is always welcome.
As far as links to other sites are concerned, provided that the links are not used for unauthorised advertising (spam), they are not potentially libelous and they do not bring the Practical Caravan brand into disrepute then please feel free to add them, the more information the better.

Hi Parksy & Everyone else
Thank you for the welcome - appreciated.
As for Spam, NO WAY.
As for libellous, not on my watch. I have been a member of the Forum I would like to post links to since 2008. Throughout that time I have been impressed with the professionalism of all involved. If by any chance there should be a slip up then please feel free to give me a slap and/or delete the post.
I must stress, that some of the information I will post, may initailly alarm some Sorento owners BUT, this is not the intention or indeed necessary. What I wish to share is some hopefully timely information which if acted upon by owners promptly should prove very helpful in extending the life of their Sorentos. Ignored, the consequence may be a reduced life for their car. The only thing I would ask for in return is for your Sorento owners to share their experiences of this Rear Axle Corrosion thing in a poll which is running to try to determine the real extent of the corrosion.
My aim is to get something together tomorrow.
Thank you once again.
