Well my Daughter has gone off to Uni and my son is about to become a Royal Marine. Not much to keep us at home so tomorrow we go to look at caravans with a view to seeing Europe over the next couple of years.

Thinking of a Lunar as I see they're light and I don't want to change cars just now. Have had a Zafira 2.0 Dti since new and am happy with it.

Should I buy a new van or a previously loved....? Is it better to buy now ( as the season ends) or wait till Feb? Quite fancy seeing some parts of the UK in the winter, particularly the south west but Wales is nice....

Hi Graham

From my recent experience at "The Lawns" caravan show when looking at new vans, there did not appear to be any really decent "should buy" now deals on offer, one dealer even advised me he could give me a better deal around christmas / January time. However you should get a good deal on a 2008 new model.Check out the "caravanfinder.co.uk" web site, very usefull.

With regard to buying new or "previously loved" both have pro's and cons. I think one of the biggest problems with buying new is if you do not take to the caravanning life, it could be a big financial hit for you if you wish to sell on soon after purchase. Buying "previously loved" is better from a finacial aspect but there can be an element of risk with regard to unknown caravan history.

Hope this has helped and good luck

Rob
