nissan patrol

hi folks im looking at a new wyoming this year and am also wondering if i change to a nissan patrol or an isuzu trooper will it be capable of pulling a twin axle over the alps with a full payload in both, any experiences you guys have would be great as i struggled over mont blanc last summer and back through the frejus tunnel last summer with a full load with an indiana and an 03 nissan navara thanks luke

Hello Luke,

I switched to a Nissan Patrol 3.0 GR SE+ about 18 months ago after a horrendous 6 months with a Sorento, and it is the best thing I ever did. The Patrol is a very high spec, and has lots of room. Whilst it is not the quickest vehicle up hills, it will reach a certain rev range where you get the impression that it will happily take you and whatever you are towing up the side of a house. I am getting about 24mpg towing a heritage 640 CB with air con, twin mover, awning etc, etc. I have had several other tow cars including large 4x4's, but in my opinion, nothing comes close to the sense of well being that the Patrol gives me.
