nissan x trail

I have a 2002 52 plate x-trail 2.2di sport with 37k miles, when i bought it second hand in may,i noticed it was smokey the smoke is black/brown,i had it back to nissan they tried injector cleaner+after this failed new injectors.I have now got car back it is a little better but still smoking when towing under load+accelarating hard.Ihave noticed other x-trails around this year smoking,is this something i am going to have to put up with or is their a cure to this problem?

I had the same problem with my first X-Trail and after the UK dealer had put it off several times I had it sorted at Interdiesel at Figueras in Spain.

They did something to the injectors and system anti-pollution.

It was a lot better but never perfect .

It would have failed the MOT before it was seen to in Spain.

I would ask an independant M O T station to do an M O T smoke test to give you some ammunition to use at the dealer.

I tried diesel specialists but they did not have the Nissan tuning facility.

Maybe a "chip" tuning specialist could make adjustments to the ECU if all else fails.
