I’m not going to a Christmas meal this lunchtime as the lurgy has struck. Wouldn’t be fair on the others or folks in the pub. Pity as the six of us have been going out all together for 49 years now.

PS breaking news. Two of our other friends have just rang and they are bug ridden too. So all six of us will now reschedule for Burns Night. Glad it has hit before Christmas.
Best to just stay away from folks, is it the flu, or something more sinister, just my devious mind since COVID.

Thanks. No I think it was just one of those old fashioned things, used to be called “a cold”. Started to clear up early in the week so nowhere as bad as a proper bout of flu. But three out of the six of us were affected over last weekend, hence why we called off the Sunday lunch. Not fair on the others, or diners and staff of the restaurant either.

Thank you for all the good wishes and messages of support.

As you may have noticed, I tend to take a factual approach to matters, and whilst my news is worrying, and it has affected me negatively, I take the view that crying over this spilt milk has no practical benefit. I am looking for the positives, and presently my hopes rest on the fact my local hospital sees it worthwhile referring me to the regional center at the Birmingham QE for surgery.
Prof, fully understand where you are coming from - suffice it to say...good luck & fingers crossed for the future.
