Have you checked the drain valve you probably opened to drain down the water heater tank when you winterised the 'van ? Its probably still open and the water is going straight out through it instead of to the hot taps.

Stephen, if you can hear the pump running then the water must be going somewhere or there is a blockage in the system. Perhaps you drained down the heater and have not refitted the drain plug or the heater is filling up and you have not given it enough time to push the air vout and water to get to the tap

Some pumps aren't powerful enough to purge the system of air if there is an airlock somewhere. In order to support the workings of a reluctant pump at the other end, I've sometimes had to suck air at the tap furthest away while the pump is running. Once all the air is out and water is running, everything's OK again.

Hello Stephen, Your difficulty sounds similar to a problem that afflicted Carver Cascade Water heaters. Over winter there can be some water left in the cold water inlet pipe (being one of the lowest points in the caravan). If the water freezes, it can displace the O ring seal on the inlet non-return valve to the heater. This stops the valve shuttle moving and prevents water from entering the heater. To check, go to the outside cover of the heater and release the drain port. Allow any water in the tank to drain away, then turn on the pump. You should get a strong gush of water from the drain port. If you only get a dribble then it is likely the Non-return valve is faulty. Replacement of the valve or the O-ring can be DIY, but if it involves breaking gas joints then I strongly suggest you have a competent fitter remake the joints to keep your insurers happy.
