I have seen several posts on this subject, so when we changed our caravan a couple of months ago I had this problem, in my case the Flojet pump is mounted on to a piece of plywood under the front end of the caravan so you have all the vibrations from the pump in to the caravan when you turn on the taps, easy way round the problem is to buy four 25mil rubber mountings off e-bay in my case from China, just remove the four screw that secure the pump to the plywood run a five mil drill through the screw holes on the pump and also the plywood, fix with bolts, this took just twenty minutes,

Hi Pitpony. Did you notice on the box it says its a silent running pump. Had the same problem that you have had but cut a piece of rubber out and mounted the pump onto it . My only problem is when you turn the tap off I get a knocking noise from the pump but I m told the pump repressurises and causes the knocking.I have quietened that down somewhat forcing some foam at the back of the pump.

It's obvious that if you mount anything mechanical on to a solid surface that you will get some kind of noise or vibration, you would fit an engine in to a car without mounting blocks, I suppose it is our caring caravan manufacturers trying to save a couple of quid on doing a proper fix,

Saying I started the thread I think I can give my opinion, if a caravan manufacturer can't be bothered to do a simple job like mounting an on board water pump on decent mountings then I would employ design engineers that knew what designing and building a caravan was all about , ah , ah, now we have the new generation of caravans that are all plastic frames and built like Philp Greens yacht, I said that fifteen years ago and made my views known to the caravan industry then, but then again I suppose the site admins have to keep the industry sweet

Are you saying that your earlier comments were removed?

Only point I'm making is that I had a noisy flojet on board water pump and made a point that it could of been rectified at the production stage by fitting rubber mounting blocks that cost me less than three quid, and hopefully any other caravanner reading my post with the same problem could do the same, no more no less,

We had the same problem with the pump in the last caravan but as the pump is only on for very short bursts just lived with it. We at least knew when we got up in a morning the pump would still be there which was not the case with the drop in pump on the previous caravan.
