noisy towbar

Hi, everyone we have probably had this one before, whilst towing van getting grinding noisy from the tow bar.Alright on the straight but turning slowly it drives you mad. I have the side [bulldog type] stabilizer, could it just be a dry ball? Many thanks, Fred.

It is the discs that are glazed you can take it apart and clean them with sandpaper or replace them (the better idea) as a Short fix leave it in a bucket of water for a few hours this will consolidate the dust but not affect it working

HI Fred Sorry about first message, must have touched the wrong

button ,we are very pleased with our Bulldog stabilzer in every

respect but for the moaning coming from it,done lots of things

but none stops it moaning, then on one of these web pages was the

answer, brake&clutch cleaner, clean the pads,no more moaning,I think the problem is the pads get all the road grime causing them to glaze, the worse the weather the more you have to clean them(hope you are taking notice Bulldog and fit a gaiter to keep the grime out so we dont have to strip & clean the pads every time it rains).
