Nordelettronica control panel

The Nordellettronica control panel above the door on our 8 year old Swift Challenger 630 seems to be on the blink. When the power button is pressed, it sometimes flashes before coming on, or power will not come on at all.
We've been trying to locate a new one, but they seem to be as rare as hens teeth. We've even phoned a dozen breakers yards without success. Swift said they stopped putting Nordelettronica control panels in their caravans the year after we bought ours and that Nordelettronica went out of business!
Our only hope seems to be to find somewhere that repairs them. At the moment it's working, but next time we press the power button, it might not, so is unreliable as to whether it will work when we go away in it.
If anyone else has had this problem, we'd be grateful to know how you resolved it.
:eek:hmy: PLEASE TRANSFER THIS TO 'TECHNICAL'

Apauljack will repair and upgrade the control panel and it will be better than new when it's done. They are based near Brent Knoll in Somerset and they will do the work via a courier. Highly recommended :)

Many thanks for your recommendation, which is much appreciated.
Phoned Apuljack Engineering and a lady said they would also need the fuse board sent, as the two talk to each other. The work would cost just under £200. She also mentioned that they are bringing out a new control panel in the near future, but not certain exactly when this will be.
We're not able to do anything about it at the moment, as the caravan is being used again soon. It's working at the moment, so fingers are crossed.
Thanks again.

You're welcome MoW.
We were about to go to the Practical Caravan readers rally at Stowford when my Nordelletronica electrics gave up the ghost.
A recommendation from Damian prompted me to give Appauljack a call and they kindly agreed to repair and modify the equipment if we stayed in Somerset on the way to the readers rally.
We styed on Home Farm in Burnham on Sea and Appauljack came to the site, removed the dodgy parts and connected up so that we still had electrics, did the work and re-installed the equipment the next day.
Appauljack also do work on missile systems so they know their stuff, they are first class.

Well the Trundle Truck which moves the caravan around the country has GPS, the trouble is that sometimes it thinks we're a motorbike :eek:hmy:I wonder if Apauljack had considered going into the sat nav business?
I can zap spam posts from my phone but it's tricky. I've got clumsy fingers so if an innocent comment suddenly disappears into cyberspace it's all my phone's fault

When the light pole is lit up it provides a good beacon for me on the way back from the pub if I'm lit up

We've just got back from a week away in the van. On setting up, the power finally came through on the fourth push of the button, much to our relief, so something is wrong with it. The control panel above the door and the fuse board have now been taken out and packed up and a courier should come today to collect it. Aplujack Engineering said it would take about 10 days to do, but that's ok, as the van is now in storage until early spring.
Thanks again for the recommendation Parksy.

The refurbished control panel and fuse board arrived back by courier on Monday and was fitted back in the caravan, this morning.
Connected it to the mains to test it and everything is working fine.
Grateful thanks for your recommendation, Parksy.
