We are hoping to try out North Devon in August/school hols.

Any breat sites we should try out?

We are new to this-so perhaps a site with facilities which can accomodate family-adults children 8 & 11 yrs and a dog.We are quite keen on the beach hence have chosen this area as it seems to have an abundance of fab looking beaches.

Any suggestions?

How about Damage Barton? It's linked to both CC & C&CC. My wifey went there when she was a kid - the site always has good reviews. It's obviously prone to British weather, but if the sun shines it's one of the best.

Ruda at Croyde is a good family site right on beach, avoid the site take-away though.

I believe Woolacombe Bay is a good family site too, but have not been there yet.

If towing to these parts take the A361 from the M5 - The more scenic route along the north coast is best reserved for day trips!

We have stayed at the CC sit Willingcott, just outside Woolacombe. A nice site handy for Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. The site has a dog walking path nearby. good facilities as usual. Croyde is a nice beach so is Saunton Sands nr to Braunton

Hi,

Went there summer before last ..... brilliant site , friendly staff , great sea views .

Only downside is because its on the clifftops can get a bit breezy.

You cant really go wrong on any of the sites at Woolacombe. My particular favorite is Woolacombe Sands.Great views of the sea if you get a pitch on the terraces and clean facilities.

North Morte Farm in Mortehoe is great too but really narrow access road through the village.

Look at Stowford Farm Meadows, a great site near to Coome Martin and will cater for all of your needs.
