Hi Jenny,

As Paul said you need to get your van serviced at the dealer.BUT if you buy an Explorer made van you should be able to get it serviced by an Explorer dealer over there, likewise if you bought a Swift group van, a Swift group dealer over there.

As long as you get the proper service stamp it shouldnt matter. You may have a problem with warranty work you may have to come back to the selling dealer unless you can come to some arrangement between the dealers.

We ordered our van at the NEC last Oct and picked it up in March. We got a fantastic bargain & the dealers have been more than helpful with a couple of problems we had, & even fitted a fan at the rear of the fridge foc.

I'm not sure how you stand in Ireland but we use a Mobile Caravan Engineer. He used to work for a local Bailey/Swift dealership and it was them who put us in touch with him. He comes to the house or storage area to service peoples caravans. He is also Corgi accredited and NCC accredited to undertake all warranty work unless it involves major jobs like the replacement of body panels. His costs are nowhere near as costly as a dealership because he hasn't the overheads. It is worth checking your yellow pages to see if theres one in your area and if he's accredited to do warranty work.

Thanks for the replies, We are trying to sell our caravan private before we go so we can go and buy one if we get good deal. Proving harder than we thought no phone calls yet papers are full of caravans for sale, maybe this is bad time to sell, does any one have any good ideas how to sell your caravan?

Thanks Keith & Jenny

Hi, just returned from our week at Drumhoney in Fermanagh. We really enjoyed it and would highly reccomend the site. Plenty for kids to do, well run and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately we couldn't say the same for the Sperrin Cottage site so we cancelled our booking. Also looked at Rushin Park and Blaney sites which looked worth a visit. Now trying to decide whether to venture out again or do some much needed work to the house. Guess what will win!

Hi Dot

Get out and enjoy having a bit of dry weather as it's the first we have had in a long time. Last year we packed our van away early September but this year we are trying to make the summer last! The winter is long and the dark nights are near so enjoy! We are heading to Benone this weekend for th OH to do a bit of body boarding hope the surfs good.

Hi dot and everyone else,

Good to see you had a good week at Drumhoney but what about Sperrin, did you stay at all and if so what was bad about it? Can you give us a quick review as we were going to go there.Get out in the van the house will always be there.

Update on the dog-lying snoring on the settee, well chilled.

I think because the facilities were so good at Drumhoney we were spoiled. It was just a bit overgrown and neglected. I have since spoken to others who said it was fine. I suppose it is your own personal choice. You have all inspired me to get out in the caravan soon. Thanks.

Hi dot

thanks for the reply I had heard that it had been closed for a while and had reopened so it probably taken the new owners a time to get up to speed, still might try it some weekend.Give clare glen a try before xmas, the toilet block is heated and they are open all year, we are thinking of going there for the new year.

PS.Does anybody fancy a meet before xmas give me a shout and we will try to arrange something.

Hi Folks

Just back from a great weekend in Sandilands, kids loved it. We were supposed to go to Kilbroney but when we turned up on Fri morn we discovered the site had been taken over by your recently discussed southern cousins!! it was very intimadating and we could'nt get out quick enough. Such a shame but grreat weekend anyway.

Heading to England on wed for vans first service, fingers crossed all goes well.

Hi all, we too have decided to use the caravan as much as we can, well that is untill it sells, selling private so we will just keep going away until it goes, the weather is so good you dont feel like hiding away in doors just yet. Not alot of sites open all year near us, the only ones a know of are Clare Glen and Tollymore if any one knows any more lets us know.

Is anyone going to NEC next week we are flying over and if any one is going maybe we could meet up.

Hi stephen, maybe catch up with you some other time at clare glen we have booked Castlewellan for Halloween went there last year and kids had great time, all the kids got dressed up (along with some rather BIG kids) and went trick or treating around the caravans, it was our first halloween away in caravan and we where not to sure what caravan folk done on halloween so when the first kids knocked on the door i was pleased to see them, after that ours got dressed up and went out to.

Maybe see some of you there.

Hi all,

Just back after a great week away, started in Aghalee and were joined by another van and a motorhome, dog had a nice big field to run around.Headed down to Lough Arrow in Sligo and we were not dissapointed, a lovely site close to the lough with immaculate facilities and was run by a lovely couple called Terry and Mary who built it from scratch themselves. Highly recommend it.We then went on to Rushin House in Belcoo Fermanagh, again another excellent site which was only open this year. We had only intended to stay 1 night, but stayed 3 nights, will definately go back, altogether a good week and the Dog had a ball.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday Stephen, We didn't get away for Halloween weekend hubby was working in Brighton and didn't get home till today, we hope to get one more trip away before putting caravan away for winter (still not sold)we are thinking of Clare Glen, you have talked about it and we would like to give it a try. We have been told that you have to pick up a key for the gate somewhere first then go to the site, is this all very easy to access when towing a large twin axle.

Many regards Keith & Jenny

Hi Jen,

Sorry to hear you didn't get away. We are hoping to get out in Nov for a weekend so keep in touch and we will try to get together.

You have to go to the leisure centre for the key,as you will be coming in to the bottom of the town you will pass thru a mini r-about go straight thru and take the 2nd road right, then left into centre, theres plenty of room to turn and go back to the mini r-about and turn right for Markethill. Hope this helps, post me if you need anymore info.
