Hi
I am thinking about giving up my 4x4 for a Volvo V70. This has a maximum noseweight allowance of 75kgs. How do members load to this limit? I have a Bailey Pegasus 534.

By loading behind the axle.
But why buy a car with such a low nose weight?
Passat, mondeo, smax, the latest versions all have a 90kg nose weight limit.

There have been several posts regarding nose weights, I have a 56 plate Mondeo which has a 75kg max. I have the smallest possible Propane bottles x 2 in the front locker, I keep all heavy items on the floor and these have to be just behind the axel. I also load the back seat of the car rather than the boot, so the car has the equivalent of 4 adults rather than 2. The key point is to check the nose weight before setting off. This will not be entirely accurate, as some people who post on this would point out, but it is a good guide to safe towing. The Mondeo is about a 95% match for the 534, from when I had it checked at the Caravan Show.

I have a 2011 2L D3 V70 the Garage didn't know what the noseweight was so I emailed Volvo and they told me that the noseweight is 90kg. It tows my Lunar Clubman ES TPLM 1495kg brilliantly, the only problem I have had is when I boarded the ferry at Portsmouth my ockey wheel just touched. Apart from that I think it is a great towcar.

Hi Stephen
We tow a 524 (chest fitted) with a Sedona, noseweight 85Kg.
Like a lot of people will tell you we load on the floor behind the axle and load the car.
Haven't had any problems with this set up.
I don't think I'd like to go back to a 75Kg noseweight really.
