Hi i bought an ABI Daystar 12 months ago, we used it once to go to Bognor Regis and we towed it with a BMW 318 IS a bit old but still solid, on the way down we encountered some ruts on the inside lane of the M6 which un-nerved me a bit to say the least and that was with a stabiliser on,afterwards we decided to get a 4x4 a mitsubishi pajero diesel what a mistake that was to cut a long story short it cost a fortune in parts and broke down so regularly that i could not trust it to get me to the shops nevermind towing the van, so the van hasnt been used for the last 12 months but this is about to change, fingers crossed i have now got a mk3 mondeo ghia 2 litre manual petrol car and have just fitted a towbar and electrics to it so am looking forward to using it in the near future. sorry for the long post!

Hi Malc

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your mishaps, I'm sure we've all had them from time to time.

I can't comment on your mk3 mondeo petrol but I have a 2L TDCi mondeo and it's absolutely brilliant, a real workhorse.

Good luck and enjoy your holidays.

Thanks for that Lisa, thought about going for the diesel mondeo but erred on the cautious side after the paj, i can live with the extra cost of the petrol as i work near home so the only times it will cost a lot is when towing and as for the paj i was lucky if it did 20 mpg without the van,got a springy floor section to sort out before the hols as it is anoying me a bit.
