Not so subtle price hikes.

Today I went into he cupboard to fetch out a coffee pod and the box felt a mite strange. It was our normal brand but contained two pods less. We couldn’t check what we paid for it from Sainsbury’s but I suspect price per pod has increased. Then it was time to reorder a 15 kg bag of dog food. It is now 14 kg and the price has gone from £26 six weeks ago, to £30.44 now. Inflation is well on its way upwards.

Standby for even more increases in autumn now that the worlds third busiest port has closed down because of a Covid case.

I noticed this a while back and started a thread on it. Also the price of fuel has really jumped up. Between March and now it has gone up £0.10p from £1.32 to £1.42. We have the CAMC Esso card where you get £0.04p off, but are now seeing some other brands selling at 4p less anyway.

Asda near me has diesel at £1.31.7 at the moment. But still a big hike over the last year.

Fuel follows different rules than other goods. But prices are certainly growing. The ending of the furlough scheme will also have a knock on affect soon.

World oil prices have started to reduce. The two benchmarks are down $5-7 a barrel and it’s feeding through to our local Esso station. But these are visible price changes. The ones bugging me are more subtle.

Tesco near me has diesel at £135 .7 at the moment last year it was cheaper it certainly going up in price .

I have noticed fuel prices down from , about a month ago, which is nice.
