November site - dog petrified of fireworks

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know of a very quiet campsite that is possibly far away from fireworks as possible. We are in Cardiff, so anywhere within 2 - 3 hours would be fine.
Poor dog has heart issue, the older he gets the less he can cope with the dratted fireworks!
If anyone could help that would be great!

No matter where you go the dratted fireworks will follow you. Go to a vet and ask for something to keep the dog calm for the couple of hours. We have the same issue with one of our dogs. The other two don't even bother with any loud bangs.

You could probably find a quiet remote CL away from many places, but sound does travel a long way, so there is no guarantee. Do they celebrate Bonfire night in Southern Ireland? I agree with Buckman, a trip to the vets may be the better bet.

Try keeping the dog in and playing a white noise tape to drown out sounds. Worked for me in past.

We had a similar problem with our springer and went to C & CC site at Delamere Forest. It is surrounded by forest. Poor TV signal though. An added advantage is that the cafe at the nearby station serves the best Bakewell I have tasted. Lost the dog in 2013 so my information is possibly out of date.

Sorry can't help for sites, friends have used the plug in things, we are lucky two dogs , neither are effected by fireworks, Labradoodle, F1, and a mongrel x just lucky , both hunter retrievers.

Living near to Salisbury Plain our Springers are used to big bangs, and get very excited if fireworks go off. They think its time to go hunting!
