I amm going to join up to a second battery the one I am running on at the moment is a 85ha Battery. I have been told by my local caravan stockest (Torksy Caravans) that the Numax 75ha is the same value but now with the latest laws they must be marked up as 75ha and not 85ha has any kind person tell me if this is correct ?

Are you actually going to join up an existing used battery to a second new battery; as in putting them in "parallel"?

Okay-ish if they are identical size type age and condition but best avoided otherwise.

Cant you arrange to switch from one to the other so they are electrically separate and not trying to cross feed?

Perfectly true, I explained at length why, but the post has been lost in cyber space!

Basically then, we've been conned for years over what Amp hours are in a battery labelled as 85Ahr, now a battery of 85Ahr 'size' or 110Ahr size has to state the actual Amp hours.

Numax admirably choose to make it perfectly clear by using 'Ahrs' other manufactures choose a less familiar way which can still confuse, particularly as you will still see 85/110 headlined rather than the true value.

Overall then, don't, (unless you paid a lot for it), expect your present battery to be 85Ahr, probably less than 75!!
