Anybody towing with a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDi PD Estate? We are considering one as a replacement for our Picasso HDi. Currently towing 1130Kg but looking at a 1300Kg 'van.

Hi Fab. I'm currently towing a Bailey Ranger 470/4 with a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDi hatchback having previously had the 2.0 FSi estate.

Came back from Devon last week and got 31 mpg which I was very happy with. Tows easily in 5th gear and on occasions 6th.

One thing I found out when swapping the estate for the hatch is that they both have the same boot space.

Thanks Martin.

Been looking today - don't like the look of drop into the boot - apart from that looks great. Also been look at an Astra 1.9 CDTi 150 SRi Estate which looks cracking though a bit lighter.

Fab, you may already know, but the top of the range Elegance model has the split level boot which brings the floor level with the top of the bumper.

Cheers Martin .... we couldn't run to the higher spec model. We have gone for an 05 Astra 150 CDTi instead since our Skoda dealer couldn't track down any recent used Octavias in 140 TDi guise, 105 TDi's were plentiful but 140's are rarer than hens teeth. Shame but I think the Astra will do the job well.
