In June; need somewhere for some (not too challenging) walks; and nice pubs would be good. Looking at CCC sites but most of the CS's are way out on the fringes. Would rather go with a recommendation. Thought 4 nights each on three different sites, pref with showers etc. Just the two of us for a quiet couple of weeks before we go down to Evesham for daughter's birthday bash.

We have used the CCC site at Keswick several times and like that. It is next to the lake and just off the town centre where you can walk to in minutes. The bus station and Booths supermarket are even closer. You can get to most places easily from the site and personally I would not waste a day moving from there to another site.

The Keswick site is a very large flat open site next to the lake and takes all types of units. Derwentwater is just for caravans and has no direct access to the lake and does not allow awnings, it is also far more enclosed. Not sure if all pitches have electric hook ups now but there were some without at one time.

Have found availability at Burns Farm Caravan Park and Campsite, Keswick. The pics and reviews look good. Have you been there?
