Not nice! It's awful when you have things stolen, no matter what the value is. It's unbelievable how 'cheeky' thieves are these days. Our neighbour had one of those large picnic tables which has attached benches stolen last week - and it's a huge hefty thing. They must have come and got it in a van.
Eighteen months ago someone got in through our patio door, and stole two mobile phones, two sets of house and car keys, and my handbag. Fortunately the dog did disturb them, she barked (we heard her, but sometimes she barked whilst dreaming so we didn't take any notice) and they obviously scarpered. They emptied my bag of anything valuable, and dumped it on the footpath which runs down at the end of the road. A neighbour out walking his dog found it at 6.30 so I was able to cancel all my cards early in the morning. I discovered later that my Boots loyalty card had been emptied of it's points at 10.05 in the morning about twenty miles away, so I'd guess they were intending to have a spree with the other cards in the retail park, expecting that we wouldn't be up and have noticed the loss. The value of what was stolen wasn't much, but it cost us two sets of new coded keys and locks for the car, and five new locks for the doors in the house!!
When we came back from our May holiday we had a bag of dirty washing stolen as we were unloading the car, so in the space of two minutes, someone had nicked it. We still haven't identified all that was in it, but the duvet cover, OH's best linen shirt, and my favourite jeans all were. I rather hope the remainder was grubby socks and pants! The only thing was that it also contained three of my silver chokers, and five or six pendants - which I'd put in there so they wouldn't get bent, knowing that I'd be unpacking the dirty washing first!
I sympathise and if you get lots of 12 Bores offered, then pass the spare on to me!
