Read yesterday that VAG will be fitting particulate filters to their range of petrol engines from 2018 onwards. These are intended to tackle the problem of the very fine particles emitted by petrol engines. So whether we like it or not it will be hard to avoid some form of exhaust particulate filter. Best buy and old Range Rover or Sorento and keep just for towing methinks.

Clive, I've been promoting old Range Rovers for twenty years!
The last of the classics are (relatively) simple, sturdy and strong if you keep the rust at bay. But buy now, cos the price is escalating fast!

oh you mean somebody has noticed the smaller yet more harmful petrol particles that go so far down into ones lungs, unlike the larger diesel particles they cannot be coughed up! wow its taken 2 decades..far too long.with diesel particles taken the full brunt of media attention and indeed blame!!!
