Oiling Corner Steadies ???

whats best to lubricate the 4 steadies with? will green oil or WD40 be ok ?

WD40 will evaporate. I use a chain spray aerosol on mine.

Conventionally on an exposed thread grease would be the prefered option

I use a spray on grease. There are different variaties available from copper grease to general purpose. Its better than oil and goes everywhere (Not literally though).

thick gear oil is best as greese will hold dirt thrown up by road wheels
