have a switch over the door with a red light in it (quite bright at night) wired in the the lights, ideas???

Tip number two - if red lights are annoying at night then a small piece of electrical tape works wonders, especially on our carbon monoxide alarm where the light flashes every 3 seconds just above my head. 
The fridge 'on' light gets a bit of cardboard hung over it and the microwave oven is turned off so the clock doesn't illuminate the van (replaced the un-switched 13 amp socket with a switched one to facilitate this). Who needs a clock when on holiday??

I too have a switch close to the door which will light up red but it only shines when my awning light comes on after dark with the PIR. So it sometimes pops on for a couple of minutes during the night if a cat comes snooping around.

Yes it's the surply to the outside awning light got my tester on it all working,
But went to change bulbs inside unit is all rusted so new light on order helogen with PIR sensor should be good Lol

You might not need a clock but when you get to a certain age the glow of a LED or uWave clock (or in our case the battery meter light) is a very convenient way of finding the path to the loo without waking the other half. I admit we have a 2-berth which we use as singles so there is no mountain climbing!
Once again, you do not need to use Photobucket (as implied in those instructions) to post a photo here. In principle you can put your photo anywhere on the web and make an image link to it, unless that "anywhere" deliberately blocks such linking. I put pictures in my own webspace and link to them here. Photobucket is the easiest free picture hosting site to use as an example but there are many others .
In the situation above your own webspace acts as the picture hosting site.
