Old faithful coat

Is it me? I now have five lovely coats, Barbour, North Face, Berghaus Crombie. So why do I only wear my ten year old shabby mucky fleece that’s fit for the bin😜😜😜

Like you I have a range, my favourite is a Sprayway Torridon bought in 2005 during a “team building” treat (trip) to Snowdonia. I keep coming under pressure to shed a few.

I don't have anything as fancy as those brands, but have several nice coats. Half a dozen or so which my wife moans about quite a lot
But I either wear a 15 year old Quicksilver snowboarding jacket which is unbelievably warm and wind proof despite being really thin or a vintage ExUS Army M65 Jacket which is neither particularly warm and not at all weather proof, but I love it with its darned holes and frayed cuffs

I think many of us have "old faithfuls" in our cupboard. I still have a suit that I bought in 1982 that still looks as good as the day that I bought it. I can still fit into it with a bit of a struggle. I have my faithful jersey that has disappeared on a few occasions but managed to find it again.

I have a few coats, nothing special. My favourite is the one closest to the cupboard door when I open it to go out.

But I once had a light jacket with massive pockets inside. It would drive Marj mad when I called it my ‘robbing jacket’. She hated it which might be why it disappeared!

I have a similar style of jacket made by Rohan, about 10 external pockets and 6 internal.
But not my favoured one, also a lovely Arran jumper my wife made for her father 35 years ago, totally waterproof due to the oils, self cleaning if left near the dogs.

I think i have a North Face Parka Coat x2 Lea Cooper Sundridge (Fishing only) i seem to wear my Parka all the time it thermal ,waterproof and keeps me warm

You do get attached to old jackets sometimes and despite having several I do tend to stick to a few favourites. Only threw out one that came from Littlewoods stores last year, I liked that one and could not bare to be parted from it until I ad no choice.

Elaines, Knitted me a new Winter Jumper, 2 years ago. out of Merrino wool.a normally takes about 3 months depending on the pattern. real fantastic collection to my jumpers.
