Old Military Rd/A939 Grantown-On-Spey to Tomintoul

Planning a dark skies trip to Tomintoul in January (or as early as weather permits) and asking if anyone has experience of this road whilst towing a caravan.

Yes been on it towing, lovely little road. Some narrow bits, but remember, a little care gets you there.

Assuming you're approaching Tomintoul from Grantown-on-Spey, so NOT from Ballater you should be ok as the snow gates are further on - there are though a couple of steep hills just before Tomintoul.
