Mark, I cannot comment on the diesel version, but I have had three petrol-engined Omegas, all automatics and all have performed admirably as towcars. The Omega is one of those cars which seems to depreciate in value very rapidly, which is tough if you buy new, but for those of us looking out for secondhand bargains, it is really good news - a comfortable, high-spec, reliable car for a very modest price!

I have a Bailey Pageant Loire 525 and tow with an Omega 2.2CD Petrol Manual. Terrific tow car. I've had it converted to run on LPG as a dual fuel vehicle. No problem with towing when in LPG and do not notice the difference when towing in petrol mode - except for leaving me with more money in my pocket. Go for it, you will not be dissapointed.

I bought my Omega 2.5TD saloon off ebay. I'm very pleased with it! Tows our Elddis Odyssey a treat and still manages about 40-45 mpg solo. I'll almost certainly buy another to replace this one when her time comes!
