On Board Water Pump Problem

Wondering if someone could help?

I have an on board water pump which has worked fine up until now. In the past when I closed the water tap the pump would run for a short time, (presumably to replace the water in the pipe between the pump and the tap that I had just drawn), then stop.

Today I was sterilising the water system and found when I closed the tap the pump continued to run as before but instead of coming to a dead stop would, for the final couple of seconds, rapidly cycle on and off. The pump running light was also rapidly flickering. The pump would then stop.

The handbook states to look for leaks at drain plugs and at water inlet but they seem o.k.

If I remember correctly if this happened in an external water pump it was normally the pressure switch that needed adjusting but there does not appear to be one on an internal pump.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Robert

Or it could be right at the front (and center) of the pump and be adjusted with a screwdriver. If the pump just cycles a couple of times and switches off,I wouldn't worry about it. Try it again, and wait around, as long as the pump remains inactive after switching off, it should be ok.
