on board water tank leeking

Hi sorry am new to all this forum stuff.
I could do with a bit of help!! I have a swift challenger 620 2010 model it has a on board water tank there is a button that you press when you drain it down for the winter. we have been using more water than we use to in our old van which had an on board tank to, so today I went to find out why. I came a cross a drip where the water comes out when you drain it down. for the winter. we have only had the van since October last year. is there anyone that can give me some help please on how to fix it many thanks Kev

I suggest that if you bought the caravan from a dealer, you should contact them about the leak.

I agree that if it was bought from a dealer you need to ask them to fix it. If it was not from a dealer then you cannot take it back.
Not sure of exactly how your caravan drains, all ours have had a valve which is operated by a lever rather than a button. If that is it I do wonder if you have got it in exactly the right position. The other possibility apart from a faulty valve might just be a bit of something caught in the valve which is preventing it closing. Filling the tank and then flushing it out might just clear it but if not ten possibly the valve needs replacing.

From 2011 Swifts were fitted with the now familiar yellow lever drain taps, but the 2010s seemed to have some features that were dropped from 2011 on.
Above the drain exit point, in the van, do you have a blue cube shaped valve? If you that is the valve operated by the drain button. I believe this type of drain valve has been introduced on Swift motorhomes recently.

As an aside, I fitted a similar valve from this 12v range that allows switching between Aquaroll and onboard tank, without having to grovel on the floor under the bunk to operate the manual valve to change water sources.

thanks will have a look next time I go up and see if I can see anything like what you have said, but I will fill it back up and drain it down and see what happens
