Buys two new switches for the control panel. Interior lights, gas box light, master , awning light etc.
All the originals and past replacement from Bailey’s Prima Leisure are marked O and I.
O is Off
I is On.

Easy😉.No . The new ones are complete opposite.
O is On
I is Off.

I’ve asked for replacements.
Am I being too fussy or should electric switches be as before , does it really matter? If it was a gas tap🙀🙀

It's a caravan-specific part - what were you expecting, standards compliance?

As Sam has pointed out there is angreed European, and I must admit I thought it was an agreed international standard. With Some (not all) rocker switched the annotated cap can be removed and put in the other way round - what ever the reason for your switched is they have come from a caravan manufacturer they are just another shambles of an example of how they do not operate an effective quality assurance scheme.

Strange, normally I'd of expected to reverse the the terminals on the wires to switch terminals,,,,,I suppose you could do an head stand and use a stick...😄

Just interpret differently. O for ON and I for ISOLATE.
That’s what we are now doing but it’s weird when all the others are opposite.
Reversing the wires makes no difference . These are crude single pole switches, on or off not current sensitive.

Probably made in China. I bought an aeration unit for my pond manufactured in China, which I had to rewire before I used it as incorrectly wired control panel with timer.

I had some LED indoor wall lights advertised on Amazon as double insulated, but on arrival even a cursory examination showed that they were not double insulated. Earth wire and external metalwork clearly visible. They were returned very quickly. I then bought their replacements from a local Lighting Superstore who sell throughout UK.

These switches in fairness have lasted 17 years of hard use 😎
No indication of country of origin.

In respect of switch marking and despite a lifetime as an engineer I still get confused over the Red/Green indicators on the main circuit breakers in a consumer unit.

Red is On and Green is Off. Can't help thinking that Green is On as in Go.

Not helped by the fact that my consumer unit...installed by an electrician....has two main circuit breakers and each main switch is different. One has to be on Red, the other on Green.

This is a common ploy by the government's of this world. Its meant to keep us old fuddy duddies on our toes, getting the old brain 🧠 cells working. And you thought you just got a 🚌 pass when you are older. Ahh the Joy's.

My Brother in law was an Electrician for Aston Martin and travelled around the world sorting Electrical faults on the cars all his working life. At retirement he had a thorough medical and was told he was colour blind. You can guess what his answer was.
