I have just discovered this website, which I thought might be worth a look for those visiting France. If you click on entrez / auto / demo gratuite, you can take a virtual driving test to check your knowledge; it also gives a lot of other useful information. The site is:

My daughter's just taken her theory test for the French Permis de Conduire at her school. It's mandatory at age 15/16 (although she's 17), the school system pays for it at thet time but if you fail & need to do it again you have to pay for it yourself. It's a great idea we think. There are so many kids over here riding mobylettes & scooters around the place that they need to have some sense of the road before they set foot on one for real!
 
Had a go mine said no errors I think and BRAVO.

Hubby had 20 errors.

So did I do well, my french is uugh so use pictures to guess answers.
