'Power Ranger' you mean? like a 240 to 110v yellow transformer box except it's white and cooks batteries for fun!!

Exactly the same happened to me and it ruined my near brand new 110Ahr battery.

One word of advice..Bin it.. sadly the same might go for your battery but lets hope your luck changes and it's ok

sort of its a black box under the van gives supply to 12 volt suff plus keeps battery charged or thats what its ment to do what do you have now

Yes... and a cooking lead acid battery is dangerous.... all that hydrogen and the possibility of an electric spark.

I once witnessed such a battery explode on a truck when a loose terminal sparked on startup.....

sulphuric acid sprayed everywhere and the battery cover thrown 50ft vertically into the air.... you CM detector did you a favour.

yes i know i was lucky to catch it before anything major happened but what shall i do to fix this what power supply do you recomend should i just get a new one of what i got it was fairly old

i have now vented the battery through the floor
Hi,

Hydogen is lighter than air, venting a batterybox through the floor does no good, it needs high level venting. Petroleum vapours are heavier than air and they do vent through the floor.

Does any one remember Greenwindows and their assertion that a gas heater was the cause of a carbon monoxide detector alert even though the heater was turned off?

I wonder if David's experience may be a possible answer to their question?
