Overnight on Motorway services?

Is it a good idea to use motorway services for a few hours kip during the night? I understand that it costs around £17 but £7 of that is a food voucher for a breakfast. Do people do this? Is it safe? Is it too noisy to actually get any sleep? Thinking of stopping somewhere on the M5 to break up my overnight trip to Cornwall from Lancashire.

Wouldn't really advise it. We tried it last year on our way down to Cornwall, and apart from other things, a refridgerated van came and parked near us, needless to say none of us got much sleep. There are so many sites about just a few minutes from the motorway, so think it's far better to use one of those. The services we stopped at was a combined lorry and caravan park, and the stink of urine was disgusting, from lorry drivers using the car park as a toilet!!!!! Would never do it again!
