overnight stop around auxerre

We are travelling from le havre to the annency area and need an overnight stop about half way. Auxerre looks about the right distance for us. Has anyone got any recommendations please?

There are two recommendations for Auxerre in the Caravan Club Europe Book 1. They are Camping Municipal , 7 Rue de Vaux, Tel 00 33 (0)3 86 51 17 54, or Camping Les Ceriselles, Route de Vincellottes, at Vincelles, Tel 00 33 (0)3 86 42 39 39

Both get good write ups for overnight stays but I haven't stayed at either.

I can't remember where we stopped at in Auxerre, but I can remember that there appeared to be nothing of any interest there and the wholle town seemed shut at 7.30 in the evening.

Have stayed at municipal at Rue de Vaux - opposite football stadium - ideal for night stop. I've also travelled down to Annecy and used the municipal at Troyes as a convenient overnight stop.
