Overnight stop near Dover ferry

Hi Folks

Great excitement we're booked with Norfolk Line Ferrries to travel out at 4.00 am on Monday 24 July. We are now looking for a night halt near Dover as we are travelling down from Merseyside on Sunday 23 July. We would hope to arrive at about 5pm and get a good few hours sleep before having to be at the port by 3.00 am (at the latest to book in). We obviously need somewhere we can leave reasonably quietly in the early hours and that would hopefully let us keep the van hooked-up. Motorway services may be a possibility but I know they can be noisy.

We are hoping that the 4.00am departure will enable us to enjoy the crossing in the daylight whilst giving us a good day's driving in France. We are heading for our first visit toItaly where our first Italian site is La Riva on Lake Como. We are taking 3 or 4 days to get there with stop-offs in France on the way.

Thanks in anticipation.

I can hardly wait for the 23 July yipeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best wishes

Tim

Hi Tim

we stopped last night on our way back from holiday at a CC site - Black Horse Farm just outside Folkestone, about 10 mintes from Dover. It has a special area for overnighters who are catching ferries so give them a call - 01303 892665

You could try Black Horse Farm Caravan Club site. They have an area there especially for overnighters catching ferries.

CC book states "members who may need to arrive or depart the site between 8pm & 9am when travelling on the ferries are asked to call the site direct for special instructions"

Direct telephone to site 01303 892665
