Overnight stops in Switzerland

We are travelling to Italy in July/August and are looking for an overnight stop in Switzerland, in the Lake Luzerne area. The few sites we have tried have told us we would need to book in advance and will only take details, including credit card details, by e-mail. As we have had problems before with giving credit card details in this way we are reluctant to do this again.

Has anybody got any suggestions for a site which does not require advance booking or that will take a booking over the telephone.

The only reason we are looking in this area is because it is convenient, not because of lake or any other tourist reason. Up to 40 miles in either direction would be fine, but not too far off our route.

You could try "Camping Jungfrau" in Lauterbrunnen just out side Interlaken.

If you can spare the time spend a couple of days its a nice area.

Guess what, we are off to Italy for the first time this year (got fed up with Spain/South of france after so many years) and have booked to stay at Camping Sursee both ways. their website provides an Email booking facility with no deposit requested. One thing to note - put Babblefish in your favorites because the replies to your Emails will be in German.

So Anita - give Camping Sursee a try and if your staying overnight on 22 July I'll see you there.
