It is coming up to pancake day and I shall be rolling out the Cadac for the first time this year. Pancakes on the Cadac are ace.

OOOOO what fillings.

We just buy the ready done mixes. Add 250 ml water one egg mix up and away you go.

A pancake consists of some flour and water made into a dough. A filling is then added to give it taste otherwise a pancake is virtually tasteless. Seems a waste of effort. Might as well have the filling on a slice fo bread. Same thing.
 
A traditional pancake is a batter, made with flour, eggs and milk, and IMO is best with a sprinkle of sugar and lemon juice squeezed over the top.

I wouldn't fancy your pancakes Ian, no wonder they are tasteless!! ;O)
 
after once leaving a thing of half open flour in the van and driving 400 miles sealed packs are the future. plus can leave in van for breakfasts
 
Charlie, I generally keep a small bag of flour in the 'van, and to prevent any spillage, I tie it tightly in a carrier bag, as I do other items that are likely to come out of the wrapper. Simples!! LOL
 
Pancake mixes are great! I like the ones that come in a plastic bottle, you just add water and shake. Fantastic for the van. Technically of course you shouldn't be buying anything extra for pancakes on Shrove Tuesday as the whole point was to use up stuff in the cupboard before the fasting of Lent (which starts the next day on Ash Wednesday).
