Hi.
Just wondering if any members here use one of the above awning carpets.
The 10 reviews ive read are very good, but would like opinions of members here "in the flesh" so to speak.
Price is 43.95 (2.5x4m)which is in my price bracket.
Any thoughts please.

Saw them at a show in Three Counties showground. They looked very nice.

Cheaper on EBay inc pp

It looks as though it is a non breathable Carpet so on lots of sites you will not be able to use it, it will destroy the grass underneath it.

They say they are breathable in the blurb but there are degrees of breath ability.

What i have read about it says it is breathable it allows the grass to survive and it hard wearing means it rot proof and UV stablised.

Mmm....mainly positive replies(apart from its breathable qualities).
Think a bit more research required before I commit.
Many thanks🤗

Apart from the older rubberish groundsheet with many perforations I’ve not found the “ carpets” particularly breathable. We’ve a Kampa one and it’s okay but even after a week grass can look a bit sick. So we tend to roll it aside every couple of days.

Thanks otherclive.
Yes,we usually roll ours to one side every other night before bedtime which I think must help a little.
At the moment, weve got a "cheapy" carpet which we find is very uncomfortable to walk on so looking for a more padded version.
I think the one I mentioned should be ok if we continue to let the grass "breathe"every day or two.

We have been caravaning for 32 years, most of the time with an awning - porch or full.
We have NEVER used a ground sheet. We have one still in its wrapper.
Feel the grass under your feet, any drink spills do not get slippery and no damage to the grass.
Save your money and go 'nude'!!

Fine on grass. But uncomfortable on hard standing unless you are a Masai.

We had a “ Moroccan carpet” Can’t say it was the same quality or make as yours. Got it from the Nec. Show. Anyway, what we found, was that the legs of the camping chairs and tables quickly made holes in it. It was a long time ago though, it ended up in a skip after the very muddy first Woosie fest at the PC rally at Stowford.

Mel, I suppose thats one way of it being breathable, we dont sit in our awning , its just a shelter for the tables and chairs and dogs bed, when Kev is near by, this week he has extended the range by 50 miles.
