Can anyone suggest where we can park our motorhome overnight in Dover, before catching an early morning ferry to Calais
Thank you Caroline

Hi Caroline
Most of us use Waterloo Crescent (sometimes referred to as Marine Parade, but that's the first bit, where you CAN'T stay).
You go down behind the Premier Inn (Marine Parade), and just carry on until the parking signs change. It's pay & display daytime (until either 6 or 8, can't remember which), then free overnight.
If you're coming from the M2/A2, you'll arrive at the ferryport roundabout via a curved flyover. Just go left on the roundabout (instead of right into the check-in), and you'll see the Premier Inn on your left a few hundred yards along. The road you want is the narrow one-way one just before the building (yes, you have to come out the other end in the morning!).
If you arrive via the M20, the PI is on your right just before you get to the ferryport entrance, but you can't turn right, you have to go round the roundabout and come back as above.
You'll probably see various nationalities there, but there's not usually much socialising (as there would be on an Aire), everyone just wants to go to sleep! Don't forget to set your alarm, but you only need a few minutes to get to check-in (unless, like us, you want a shower in the van first!)

If you're hungry when you arrive, I can recommend the chip shop on Castle Street, and with a bit of luck you'll find an on-street spot while you call there.
